Many women are choosing tattoos as a way to celebrate their children, both publicly and privately.
The trend has grown even more popular in recent years with celebrity moms like Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie and Jessica Alba showing others tattoos and the love for their kids are nothing to hide.
Amber Adams is a busy mother of six who hangs on to just about everything.
“I kept their outfits that I brought them home in. And because these are preemie, they are really, really tiny,” she said.
Adams said the tattoos didn’t go over well with everyone since she and her family/friends are fairly conservative.
She’d planned to get tattoos for her 2-year-old twin boys and then found out she was pregnant again. But now that Sofia Lynn is 1 year old, Adams said it’s about time her youngest children get their own flowers too.
Doctors advise mothers not to get tattoos while they are pregnant because of the risk of passing on an infection. And for portrait tattoos, artists recommend waiting until a baby turns 1 year old so that the characteristics will be more distinct.
Do you like this trend? Do you have one of your own? Do you think it’s a fad or a lasting new tradition? What about the dads??? I would get a tattoo with my kids names, but nothing more than that. I don’t know.
